SKIFF ADVENTURE EARLY

Loved the Rancho Huevos eggs  for breakfast. Ready to take on the day now. I think the rain is wearing on some guests as the week comes near an end. There were only a total of 4 guests go out on our 8:30 AM skiff, including Carol & I. It is pretty rainy. But off we go led by Spencer and Eric, our captain.

Nice to be out and see the changing scenery here in Deep Bay, Alaska but the highlights were limited to a couple of sea otters, a baby deer on the shore, and some eagles overhead. After about an hour it was agreed that we had seen about all we were likely to see for this venture. So back to the ship we went.

In recognition of the cold wet day we have, Chef presented us with a 3-Meat Chile for lunch. This was outstanding, and hit the spot. The Alaskan Ambers also hit the spot.

A SEA CUCUMBER IN HAND & ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS

After a great lunch we rested a bit before our 2:45 PM skiff tour with Karissa and our Captain, Patty. Yes, it is still wet but this is a rain forest and we have rain suits that keep us dry. We came here to experience the area and take in the scenery, and today is no different. Deep Bay looks pretty interesting and we are promised to venture pretty far out today.

We cruised the Peril Straight, ventured into Big Bear Little Bear Marine Park and crossed over the famed Alaska Marine Highway. It did not take long before Karissa brought a Sea Cucumber onboard. She offered it to anyone who was willing to hold the less than attractive sea creature and Carol volunteered. So we learned about Sea Cucumbers today. There was not much traffic out here as much as we skiffed around but we did see a couple of private yachts. These adventures really feel like we are alone in this pristine area of the world. It did mist most of the time but we treasured this experience like all of them. Only one more full day to go.

Happy Hour produced more delicious hors devourers, great beverages and learning where we will spend our last full day aboard The Legacy

Dinner was exceptionally fabulous tonight when we were presented with All You Can Eat Crab Legs, served with Hush Puppies, rolls and an amazing salad. Cheers to the chef.

After dinner we attended a very nice presentation done by Liz about Life Under The Sea. Then there is always time to spend at The Lounge keeping Steve company. A toast to another great day here in Alaska with UnCruise.
