Arrive St. Maarten | Windstar Star Breeze | Setting Sail

The flight to St. Maarten is a gorgeous one from the window seat, giving us fabulous Caribbean reef views. The transfer through town past shops is relaxing and easy. Check-in with Windstar Cruises is always quick, efficient and easy.

We did as most guests do first - check out our cabin. You have to love the spacious suites on Star Breeze. This is an all-suite ship, with none less than 277 square feet. It is so pleasant to have generous space to stretch out, have a full sitting area, large refreshment area, full walk-in closet and spacious bathroom with double sinks and loads of amenities. There are a variety of suites so check out our overview page for more info.

For those arriving the day before or early enough lunch is available in Veranda from 1 pm - 3:30 pm. Take your pick - eat indoors with A/C, or outdoors under cover with sea breezes and views of St. Maarten. You will find a full menu as well as cold and hot buffet available. 

​

Another option, and available beyond 3:30 is Yacht Club,with plenty of tasty sandwiches, wraps, deserts and more. Plus the bar is open. After lunch we toured the ship independently to get familiar of our yacht away from home for the next seven nights. Very excited about spending a week on this fabulous yacht.

A Look at Today's Events of Interest:

4:30 PM - Take a guided tour of the ship

5:15 PM - Mandatory Safety Drill. This is nice and easy.

​

6:15 PM - Welcome Aboard Introductions. Meet your Destination Manager and other key members of the crew. This event is held in the Lounge and provides an overview of what our week will be like, onboard and in ports. Tonight, as each subsequent night will feature preparations for tomorrow's port, in this case Anguilla.

​

7:00 - 9:00 PM - Restaurants are open for dinner. Aside from where reservations are required you are free to dine when, where and with who you wish. As we have always experienced on Windstar, our first meal was fabulous. And the ice cream in the Caribbean is just always better.

​

9:00 PM - ??? - Live music and dancing in the Star Bar, and also at Compass Rose. The party goes until you bail out.
