Unlike some resorts, the check-in staff at Excellence Riviera Cancun makes certain you are informed of their many facilities and amenities. ULTIMATE VACATIONS has great deals for Excellence Riviera Cancun and highly recommends this adult-only 5-star Riviera Maya, Mexico resort. They provide a complete introduction to the resort with a map as a reference. After check-in the bell boy escorts you to your junior suite and your bags arrive with you, not later. Along the way he too provides pointers about the resort. He also fully explains all the amenities of your room and the services at the resort. Nothing is left to guess work - not the in-room safe operations, room service procedures, or even how to properly use the Jacuzzi.
Unless you have studied the details in advance you can't help but be overwhelmed with the beauty, size and amenities of the accommodations. Every room at Excellence Riviera Cancun is a Junior Suite, complete with whirlpool tub - large enough for two, twin vanities, separate Water Closet, and large shower with tile bench, stocked mini-bar, CD/DVD player, use of bathrobe and slippers, a large safe, beautiful four-poster bed, large balcony or patio. The majority of room views at Excellence Riviera Cancun are described as spa or pool view. As you can see from our picture above the resort is in sort of a circular layout. The spectacular spa is in the middle of the resort with rivers of pools surrounding it, including one that leads directly into the spa. Yes, you can swim or float right into the spa. The grounds are simply beautiful. Grab a float and drift around the resort in any of the six meandering pools. Of course you can stop at a swim-up bar to refresh yourself. This is tropical luxury.
Food is an important element of any all-inclusive resort. With only 440 rooms you could expect less than the eight gourmet a la carte restaurants, where reservations are not required. But eight it is - and each is different. Check the entire list but do not miss Chez Isabelle, the French restaurant. During our first visit we came away impressed that it was the best. However, we did not have an opportunity to dine at Barcelona, which we did the second time. We came away with the highest impression of Barcelona, simply delicious, an the service was excellent! Beware, long pants and dress or polo shirts are required in any air conditioned restaurant, and this in enforced. In fact the women dressed up (or showed off) more than any Mexican all-inclusive we've been to. Be sure to review The Excellence Times placed in your room with schedules for the following day (just like a cruise). Some restaurants are closed each night, so plan ahead. Of course there's 24-hour room service.

Drinks? No problem at any of the ten bars at Excellence Riviera Cancun located everywhere from just below the lobby, to the beach, to the swim-up's at the pool. You should have no problem either with the brands and quality of drinks.
Wow! That was the first impression upon our initial arrival at Excellence Riviera Cancun. It is still that after regular visits and multiple stays. Deservedly Excellence Riviera Cancun was selected to the Conde Nast Gold List - well earned. You arrive at a gated entrance where your name is researched to make sure you belong. Seconds later you are greeted by name by the bell captain. He gathers your bags and brings them while escorting you through the two automated beautiful, heavy wooden doors to check in. He (and your bags) remain close by during checkin. More staff welcome you with a thirst quenching Champagne toast, a cool towel and the relaxing scent of aromatherapy. Our second check in process was executed with seamless precision, exactly as the first.
