Located just about 30-minutes south of the Cancun International Airport, this upscale family-focused resort sits on a beautiful stretch of white sand beach overlooking gorgeous turquoise Caribbean water. All of the rooms, suites and restaurants face the ocean. And if beach and sand are not your thing you will likely love the nearly resort-long pool and swim-up bar.

THE ROOMS

Rooms and suites were designed with maximum flexibility in mind. With every room facing the ocean you can not go wrong. Ground floor rooms are swim-up suites and have direct access to the main pool from each patio. Suites on floors 2, 3, and 4 have the exceptionally cool feature of an Infinity Pool connected to each balcony, running the length of the building. While the 5th and 6th floor suites do not have a water feature they have spectacular commanding views of the ocean.

Flexibility is key with accommodations here. The Ocean Front Luxury Jacuzzi Suite is the smallest offering at 720 square feet. With a king or 2 double beds, each has a Jacuzzi and a sliding divider door to separate the bed(s) from the living area which has a single and double foldout sofa. Every suites has double sinks in a large contemporary bathroom, and has a smart 47-inch TV, large closet space, in-room mini fridge customizable with beer, bottled water, soda and juices of your choice, snacks and kid's favorites. And the 24-hour In-Room Dining is exceptional.

The well thought layout has one entry and foyer for every three rooms, which allows families to connect as many as three rooms and have their own private entrance. Guests traveling with children can take advantage of the Gourmet Inclusive Baby Amenities such as strollers, cribs, pack and plays, baby changing tables, monitors, baby bottle warmers, baby bathrobes and more.

FOR KIDS

Generations Riviera Maya planned this resort to spoil kids with amazing hands-on activities hard to find elsewhere. Start with the Family Lounge with billiards, air hockey and table games. Elko Kids Club has supervised activities for kids 4 through 12 where kids learn about the environment in fun ways, have art projects, a toy library, movie area, craft station, gaming consoles and more. There's even a nap area.

Little Elko Chefs is a fantastic idea, where kids experience hands-on cooking opportunities. Our Cameron made delicious smoothies and pasta from scratch. He loved this and the Elko Kids Club so much we literally had to drag him out day an night.

In addition to beach and pool areas designed specifically for kids, the beach butlers descend on families as soon as their toes touch the sand, preparing a Bali bed for the family, unpacking a giant bag of beach toys for the kids, adjusting umbrellas, offering additional towels, and taking drink AND food orders.

FOR ADULTS

First of all food quality is extremely high, and only premium brand spirits, wine and beer are served. The staff at the beach, pools, restaurants and bars are fun, friendly and dedicated to pampering.

IF mom and dad need a little adult escape time while the kids are carefully tended to at the Elko Clubs, they are invited to wander over (or have a cart transport them) to El Dorado Royale (fabulous adult-only resort) which adjoins Generations. Adults have full access to El Dorado night and day at pools, restaurants and bars. Cheers to that!

Nothing but the best from this Karisma Resort. The food is fabulous and all six eateries including Mediterranean, Pan Asian, Caribbean, and the wine Tasting Room. The newest addition, The Palms, over the beach is sensational for that relaxing Caribbean vibe over fabulous cuisine and great wine or beers.
