Luxury Maui Resort Celebrates 25th Birthday with Massive Updates

Not to say she needed it but to help celebrate her 25th birthday Ritz Carlton, Kapalua is wrapping up $30 million in renovations and updates. This is on top of another $25 million in renovations to its residences. Why? The former owners invested $25 million then sold the resort and the new owners continued the updates.

So what does a 463 guestroom and 107 residential suite luxury resort update? The rooms to start. The floor-to-ceiling window rooms have a modern motif featuring sand, azure blue and deep green tones. The rooms are now equipped with 55-inch LCD TV's, enhanced internet and multiple bedside tables. The WiFi can handle 10 devices streaming simultaneously to keep every family member plugged in and happy.

New landscaping features more native plants, such aw hibiscus and puakenikeni and hala trees. The 10,000 square foot pool saw upgrades in the form of new permanent palapas, cloth umbrellas and chaise lounges. The cabanas were redone with custom metal and wood frames and cushioned seating. The plush cabana suites feature TV's, butler service and private refrigerators.

Kai Cafe was updated and includes grab-and-go coffee along with sandwiches, wraps, salads and other light fare. The Banyan Tree restaurant was updated as well with a new covered open air section.

The Ritz Carlton, Kapalua is part of the 22,000-acre Kapalua Resort developed on a Maui hillside wrapping around golf courses and delivering spectacular Pacific Ocean views.
